Regular Season Round 9: Langen - Kronberg 84-91

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Kronberg (2-7) defeated on the road higher ranked TV Langen (5-4) 91-84 on Saturday. Strangely TV Langen outrebounded Kronberg 43-27 including a 21-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American point guard Kewan Beebe (183-93, college: Geneseo St.) stepped up and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Nicolas Lagerman (192-1) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Niklas Pons (192-99) with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Christopher Edward (201, college: Concordia, OR) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five Kronberg and four TV Langen players scored in double figures. TV Langen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kronberg moved-up to thirteenth place in South-West, which they share with Tuebingen II. Loser TV Langen dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Kronberg will face league's second-placed Idstein at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TV Langen will play against Koblenz where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
