Rather predictable result in Okinawa where second ranked Ryukyu GK (9-5) beat 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (5-10) 63-56 on Saturday. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Forward DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Shiga L-Stars' coach let to play eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ryukyu GK maintains second place with 9-5 record having four points less than leader Tochigi B., which they share with Akita NH. Loser Shiga L-Stars dropped to the third position with ten games lost. Ryukyu GK will face again Shiga L-Stars (#5) at home in the next round.
