Regular Season Round 9: Dist.Olimpico - Alcobendas 64-65

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Dist.Olimpico (2-7) was edged by third ranked Alcobendas (7-2) in Madrid 65-64 on Saturday. It was a good game for center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Forward David Marina (202-88) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Enrique Ruiz (202-85) answered with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jorge Viejo (191-1, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points in the effort for Dist.Olimpico. Dist.Olimpico's coach Miguel Angel Lago tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Alcobendas. They maintain third place in Group B with 7-2 record behind leader Tarragona. Dist.Olimpico lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth position with seven games lost. Alcobendas will face Alcala (#7) at home in the next round. Dist.Olimpico's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena Estudiantes B.
