Regular Season Round 14: Gargzdu - Perlas 86-96

Everything could happen in Gargzdai at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Perlas and 10th ranked Gargzdu had identical 5-7 record. But Gargzdu was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Vilnius 96-86 on Saturday night. Perlas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Power forward Einaras Tubutis (207-98) had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Augustas Marciulionis (192-2) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists during the contest. Perlas' coach Gintautas Vileita used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-85, college: Virginia) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Laurynas Lucinskas (201-93) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Five Perlas and four Gargzdu players scored in double figures. Perlas (6-7) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Delikatesas and Ezerunas. Loser Gargzdu dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Perlas will face bottom-ranked Jonava (#15) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gargzdu will play against Delikatesas (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
