Regular Season Round 15: Nagoya DD - Osaka E. 61-81

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. First ranked Osaka E. faced 4th placed Diamond Dolphins. Guests from Osaka (10-4) smashed host Diamond Dolphins (8-7) 81-61. Osaka E. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Diamond Dolphins' 28. They outrebounded Diamond Dolphins 36-22 including 29 on the defensive glass. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American-North Macedonian center Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) who recorded 10 points and 8 rebounds and guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osaka E. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-4 record. Diamond Dolphins lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Kyoto H.. Osaka E. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Diamond Dolphins will play again at home against the league's leader Osaka E. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
