Regular Season Round 15: Alvark T. - San-en NP 82-67

Date: November 16, 2019
Bottom-ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-67 loss to second ranked Toyota Alvark (10-3) in Tokyo on Saturday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by San-en NeoPhoenix's players. The best player for the winners was American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Daiki Tanaka (191-91) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Jessie Govan (185-97, college: Georgetown) who recorded 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Hayato Kawashima (186-90) added 17 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively. San-en NeoPhoenix's coach rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Toyota Alvark. Defending champion maintains second place with 10-3 record having 2 victories less than leader Tochigi B., which they share with Hitachi SRT. San-en NeoPhoenix lost their fifteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 15 games lost. Toyota Alvark's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Hitachi Sunrockers.
