Everything went according to plan when third ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (8-3) outscored on the road 10th ranked Lorient (4-7) 100-64 on Saturday. SO Maritime Boulogne dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lorient's 30. They outrebounded Lorient 37-26 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. SO Maritime Boulogne looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Lorient's players. It was a great evening for American power forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. SO Maritime Boulogne maintains third place in Group A with 8-3 record behind leader Angers. Lorient lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. SO Maritime Boulogne will face Vendee Challans (#4) at home in the next round. Lorient will play against the league's second-placed STB Le Havre (#2) and hope to win that game.
