Regular Season Round 15: Niigata A. - Tochigi B. 63-80

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Niigata. First ranked Tochigi B. faced 3rd placed Niigata A.. Guests from Tochigi (11-4) defeated host Niigata A. (5-10) 80-63. Tochigi B. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata A.'s 30. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international guard Hironori Watanabe (180-88) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Tochigi B. players scored in double figures. American power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import forward Nick Perkins (203-96, college: Buffalo) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Niigata A.Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tochigi B.. They maintain first place with 11-4 record. Niigata A. at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars and Shimane SM. Tochigi B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata A. will play again at home against the league's leader Tochigi B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
