Regular Season Round 6: Vera - TSU 86-96
Date: November 16, 2019
Very significant was TSU's (#2) 96-86 road victory against one of their biggest challengers Vera. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Vera took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then TSU had a 28-14 second period charge getting the lead and Vera was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 86-96. Serbian guard Djordje Milosavljevic (193-94) notched 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and international power forward Giorgi Korsantia (207-98) supported him with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by American center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St.) did not help to save the game for Vera. His fellow American import point guard Brandon Sly (178-96, college: Adams St.) added 17 points and 4 assists. Four TSU and five Vera players scored in double figures. TSU (4-2) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Batumi. Newly promoted Vera dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. TSU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena BC Titebi.
