The most surprising game was the first loss of Univ.Cluj (4-1) in Bucuresti on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Rapid (4-2) 63-56. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Univ.Cluj. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-16. But Univ.Cluj won second period 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Rapid won last quarter 14-8. They also forced 22 Univ.Cluj turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Bogdan Sandu (201-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Naturalized Italian Alexandru-Cristian Varga (193-99) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Mihnea-Tudor Brie (196-1) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Tudor Valeanu (182-1) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Univ.Cluj. Univ.Cluj's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rapid have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Agronomia Buc. Univ.Cluj at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost.
