Regular Season Round 16: Ryukyu GK - Shiga L-Stars 81-45

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (5-11) were smashed by second ranked Ryukyu GK (10-5) in Okinawa 81-45 on Sunday. Quite impressive performance for American forward DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) replied with 13 points and his fellow American import swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Osaka E. Loser Shiga L-Stars dropped to the third place with 11 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face league's leader Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against Aishin Sea Horses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
