Regular Season Round 8: Brose Bask. - Ratiopharm 78-81

The most exciting game of round 8 in the BBL took place in Bamberg. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-ranked Brose Baskets (6-2) to fifteenth ranked ratiopharm Ulm (2-5) 81-78 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Brose Baskets. Worth to mention a great performance of French Killian Hayes (196-1) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 assists and American forward Grant Jerrett (208-93, college: Arizona) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. Belgian-Nigerian guard Retin Obasohan (191-93, college: Alabama) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. ratiopharm Ulm moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Bayreuth and Giessen 46ers. Brose Baskets at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. ratiopharm Ulm is looking forward to face Hamburg (#16) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Brose Baskets will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#10) in Frankfurt and are hoping to win this game.
