Very significant was Nuggets' (#1, 9-3) victory against 3rd placed Grizzlies (5-8) 131-114. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Grizzlies. Nuggets shot the lights out from three nailing 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 36 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. It was a good game for Canadian swingman Jamal Murray (198-97, college: Kentucky) who led his team to a victory with 39 points (!!!) and 8 assists. Forward Paul Millsap (203-85, college: Louisiana Tech) contributed with 23 points and 5 steals for the winners. Forward Jaren Jackson-Jr (211-99, college: Michigan St.) answered with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas (213-92) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Grizzlies. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Nuggets maintains first place with 9-3 record, which they share with Miami Heat and Milwaukee B. Grizzlies at the other side keep the third position with eight games lost.
