Regular Season Round 16: Sea Horses M. - Toyama G. 71-72

Another exciting game for Toyama G. (5-11) which played in Kariya against one of their biggest challengers Aishin Sea Horses (4-12). Fifth ranked Toyama G. upset home team edging them after exciting game by one point 72-71. Toyama G. shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Satoru Maeta (188-97) who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) scored 15 points. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyama G. moved-up to third place, which they share with Niigata A. and Shiga L-Stars. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. Toyama G. will play against Chiba J. (#5) at home in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
