There was no surprise in Shenzhen where 19th ranked Bayi Rockets (1-7) were outplayed by sixteenth ranked Leopards (3-5) 108-82 on Friday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Leopards made 7 blocks. Bayi Rockets were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center MuHao Li (218-92) who added 17 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Leopards players scored in double figures. The former international forward Haowen Guo (201-0) responded with 21 points and the former international center Hao Fu (206-97) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leopards moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Shandong GS and Nanjing TX MK. Loser Bayi Rockets keep the nineteenth position with seven games lost. Leopards will face league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bayi Rockets will play at home against Gold Lions (#20) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
