There was no surprise when 10th ranked Lorient (4-8) was defeated on the road by second ranked STB Le Havre (10-2) 73-55 on Friday. STB Le Havre outrebounded Lorient 43-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) who scored 11 points and 7 assists. Calvin Hippolyte (197-0, agency: Duran International) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four STB Le Havre players scored in double figures. STB Le Havre's coach Herve Coudray used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mathieu Bigote (190-84) who recorded 18 points and Mali center Drissa Ballo (203-95) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. STB Le Havre have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group A with 10-2 record having just one point less than leader Angers. Lorient lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with eight games lost. STB Le Havre will face Vendee Challans (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lorient will play against Vanves (#14) and hope to win that game.
