Regular Season Round 7: BC Titebi - TSU 66-85
Date: November 23, 2019
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: TSU (#1) and BC Titebi (#3). BC Titebi was crushed at home by 19 points 66-85 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by TSU. BC Titebi was better in third quarter 21-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Giorgi Korsantia (207-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. American guard David McFarland (193-96, college: SIUE) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four TSU players scored in double figures. TSU's coach Leqso Lapanashvili allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Tristin Walley (201-96, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Richard Matiashvili (207-89) added 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for BC Titebi. TSU maintains first place with 5-2 record. BC Titebi at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. TSU will play against Rustavi (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BC Titebi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Olimpi.
