Regular Season Round 8: Dubcek - MBK Ruzomb. 38-96

Undefeated leader MBK Ruzomberok delivered the tenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Dubcek (2-8) 96-38 in Bratislava. MBK Ruzomberok dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dubcek's 22 and made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game, while Dubcek only scored one point from the stripe. MBK Ruzomberok forced 22 Dubcek turnovers and outrebounded them 40-20 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. MBK Ruzomberok players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Dubcek's players. Ukrainian forward Olga Yatskovets (188-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Sherise Williams (191-93, college: Mississippi St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four MBK Ruzomberok players scored in double figures. Point guard Alexandra Riecka (169-78) replied with 15 points and power forward Monika Krajcovicova (183-97) added 6 points in the effort for Dubcek. MBK Ruzomberok (10-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. Dubcek lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Samorin. MBK Ruzomberok will play against Samorin (#4) at home in the next round. Dubcek will play against Banska Bystrica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
