There was a small surprise in Tokyo where sixth ranked Fukuoka R. (6-14) won against their close opponent Koshigaya A. (4-16) 94-88 on Saturday. Fukuoka R. made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Kevinn Pinkney (207-83, college: Nevada, agency: SDJ Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 21 rebounds and forward Takuya Komoda (190-87) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American power forward Alex Stepheson (208-87, college: USC) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: UNC) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fukuoka R. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tokyo Z. Newly promoted Koshigaya A. keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Fukuoka R. will have a break next round. Koshigaya A. will play again at home against Fukuoka R. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
