Regular Season Round 7: Shumen - CSKA 97-73

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Shumen (3-2) crushed at home bottom-ranked CSKA (1-5) 97-73. Shumen dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to CSKA's 46. Shumen forced 28 CSKA turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for swingman Krasimir Dimitrov (195-98) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Dimitar Yanchev (187-90) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Shumen players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Emilian Grudov (198-1) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and forward Nikolay Stefanov (192-99) scored 17 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shumen moved-up to second place. CSKA lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with five games lost. Shumen will play against Vidabasket (#5) in Vidin in the next round. CSKA's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Slavia.
