Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Tokyo: Hitachi Sunrockers (#3) and Toyota Alvark (#2). Toyota Alvark was defeated at home 65-77 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Toyota Alvark. It was a key game for the top position in the league. American players dominated the game. Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) fired 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) produced 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Alvark T. and Tochigi B. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round. Toyota Alvark will play on the road against Akita Happinets and hope to win that game.
