Very significant was Nuggets' (#1, 13-3) victory against 4th ranked Wizards (5-10) 117-104. Nuggets dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Wizards' 60. They outrebounded Wizards 58-36 including a 48-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Nuggets players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. The winners were led by Will Barton (198-91, college: Memphis) who scored that evening 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Serbian center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 8 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 21 points by swingman Jordan McRae (197-91, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for Wizards. Bradley Beal (196-93, college: Florida) added 14 points and 6 assists. Four Nuggets and five Wizards players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nuggets (13-3) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Wizards at the other side keep the fourth place with ten games lost. Nuggets will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Wizards will play on the road against Suns (#3) in Phoenix and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
