There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Mulhouse (6-7) defeated at home higher ranked La Charite (8-5) 85-74 on Friday. They outrebounded La Charite 46-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. Quite impressive performance for Canadian forward Guillaume Boucard (198-90, college: Carleton) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Guinean center David Conde (202-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Mulhouse players scored in double figures. Senegalese power forward Papa Beye (202-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Juwan Howard-Jr (200-92, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Green Sports Management) added 21 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for La Charite. Mulhouse moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with Orchies. Loser La Charite keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Mulhouse will face higher ranked Andrezieux (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. La Charite will play against Saint Vallier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
