There was no surprise in Hradec Kralove where 5th ranked Zabiny Brno (5-6) was defeated by second ranked Sokol HK (9-1) 80-76. Sokol HK players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Zabiny Brno's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Petra Kulichova (198-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Andrea Klaudova (178-89) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American point guard Janee Thompson (170-93, college: Kentucky) replied with 25 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and swingman Michaela Vondrackova (175-91) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Zabiny Brno. Zabiny Brno's coach Viktor Prusa tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sokol HK have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-1 record behind leader USK Praha. Zabiny Brno at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Sokol HK will play against KP Brno (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Zabiny Brno will play against the league's leader USK Praha and hopes to get back on the winning track.
