Very important is a home loss of second ranked Perth Wildcats (8-5) against fifth ranked Adelaide 36ers (6-6) on Sunday night. Host Perth Wildcats were defeated by Adelaide 36ers in Perth 99-88. Adelaide 36ers dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Perth Wildcats' 38. They outrebounded Perth Wildcats 46-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. Adelaide 36ers players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ukrainian-American point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) chipped in 20 points and 8 assists during the contest. Four Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Bryce Cotton (185-92, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Jesse Wagstaff (203-86, college: MSU Denver) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Adelaide 36ers maintains fifth position with 6-6 record. Defending champion Perth Wildcats keep the second place with five games lost. Adelaide 36ers will play against higher ranked United (#3) in Melbourne in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Perth Wildcats will play on the road against Melbourne Phoenix in Melbourne, Victoria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
