Very important is a road loss of second ranked Medias (6-2) against fourth ranked Focsani (5-3) on Monday night. Visiting Medias were crushed by Focsani in Focsani 70-49. The game without a history. Focsani led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Focsani forced 19 Medias turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Donovan Smith (206, college: Quinnipiac) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian swingman Djordje Simeunovic (201-96) who added 10 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Focsani's coach Mihai Petrut felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian power forward Nikola Siladji (208-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Titus Nicoara (203-88, agency: Interperformances) scored 9 points and 14 rebounds. Focsani maintains fourth position in Nationala with 5-3 record. Medias at the other side keep the second place with two games lost. Focsani will play against Targu Jiu (#6) in Mures in the next round. Medias will play on the road against Marmatiei (#7) and hope to get back on the winning track.
