Regular Season Round 12: Regnitztal - Jena 2 75-89

There was an upset when higher ranked Regnitztal (6-6) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Jena II (5-7) 89-75 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of American Vincent Garrett (198-91, college: Green Bay) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds and Melvin Jostmann (200-0) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Jena II players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Moritz Plescher (195-0, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Brandon Tischler (198-0) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jena II moved-up to ninth place in South-East, which they share with Rosenheim and Treuchtlingen. Newly promoted Regnitztal keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Jena II will face higher ranked Vilsbiburg (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
