Regular Season Round 10: APOP - Keravnos 57-94

OPAP Basket League top team - Keravnos (9-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked APOP (1-8) in Paphou 94-57. Keravnos shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by APOP's players. American forward Jake OBrien (206-89, college: Temple, agency: HMS) notched 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) supported him with 16 points. Five Keravnos players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by American point guard Phil Taylor (178-91, college: Shorter) did not help to save the game for APOP. Naturalized Greek Savvas Mavromatis (199-88) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. APOP's coach Markos Asonitis gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Keravnos have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-0 record. APOP lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with eight games lost.
