Regular Season Round 11: United - 36ers 112-90
Date: December 7, 2019
Third ranked United (8-6) crushed at home 5th ranked Adelaide 36ers (6-7) by 22 points 112-90, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Adelaide 36ers. They outrebounded Adelaide 36ers 39-24 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. His fellow American import guard Melo Trimble (190-95, college: Maryland) helped adding 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and Ukrainian-American point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. United maintains third place with 8-6 record having just three points less than leader Kings. Loser Adelaide 36ers dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. United will face bottom-ranked Illawarra Hawks (#9) in Gwynneville in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Adelaide 36ers will play on the road against New Zealand Breakers in Auckland and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
