Regular Season Round 17: Akita NH - Alvark T. 76-79

Important game to mention about took place in Akita. Second ranked Toyota Alvark (13-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Akita Happinets (9-7) 79-76 on Saturday evening. Toyota Alvark players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Akita Happinets were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) accounted for 16 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) came up with 37 points (!!!) (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Akita Happinets in the defeat. Akita Happinets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Toyota Alvark. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Tochigi B. Akita Happinets at the other side dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Toyota Alvark will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Akita Happinets will play again at home against the league's second-placed Toyota Alvark (#2) and hope to get back on the winning track.
