Regular Season Round 11: Tofas - Pinar Karsiyaka 94-88

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (9-2) against fifth ranked Tofas (8-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Pinar Karsiyaka was defeated by Tofas in a tough game in Bursa 88-94. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pinar Karsiyaka. Tofas made 25-of-31 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Pinar Karsiyaka was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Baris Ermis (194-85) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. American center Devin Williams (206-94, college: WVU) accounted for 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American power forward Jordan Morgan (203-91, college: Michigan) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Senegalese-French Amath MBaye (205-89, college: Oklahoma) added 13 points and 10 assists respectively for Pinar Karsiyaka in the defeat. Four Tofas and five Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tofas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bandirma. Pinar Karsiyaka at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Fenerbahce. Tofas will play against OGM Orman (#10) in Ankara in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pinar Karsiyaka will play at home against Darussafaka (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
