Regular Season Round 20: Gargzdu - Palanga 78-94

An interesting game took place in Gargzdai where 9th ranked Gargzdu (8-10) was upset on its own court by twelfth ranked Palanga (7-12) 94-78 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gargzdu. Palanga dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gargzdu's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Aidas Viskontas (186-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 assists and guard Mindaugas Reminas (186-86) who added 24 points during the contest. Point guard Deividas Anuzis (183-92) responded with 15 points and 8 assists and Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-85, college: Virginia) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Gargzdu players scored in double figures. Palanga moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ereliai Mazeikiai and Vytis. Loser Gargzdu keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Palanga will face Silales Lusis (#14) in Rietavas in the next round.
