Regular Season Round 13: Algeciras - Moron 61-52
Date: December 7, 2019
There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Algeciras (6-7) beat at home 6th ranked Moron (6-7) 61-52 on Saturday. Moron trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 18-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 52-61 at the end of the game. Quite impressive performance for naturalized Gibraltar point guard Miguel Ortega (188-91) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Senegalese center Elhadji Dieng (211-96, college: FIU) contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Dieng is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard Jose-Antonio Marco (179-89) answered with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian forward Balsa Dragovic (208-96, college: Harvard) added 6 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Moron. Moron's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Algeciras moved-up to seventh place in Silver. Algeciras will face higher ranked Zamorano (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Moron will play against the league's second-placed UBU Tizona having rather not much hope for a victory.
