Regular Season Round 11: BSW Sixers - Schwelm EN 79-82

Date: December 8, 2019
The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Sixers (8-3) in Sandersdorf. Hosts were edged by SG Schwelmer Baskets (9-2) 82-79. It was a key game for the top position in North. SG Schwelmer Baskets made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Strangely Sixers outrebounded SG Schwelmer Baskets 34-20 including 21 on the defensive glass. Sixers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Montrael Scott (190-93, college: PVAMU) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Danish swingman David Knudsen (196-94, college: Marist) accounted for 22 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Four SG Schwelmer Baskets players scored in double figures. Naturalized Croatian center Benedikt Turudic (207-97) came up with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Justin Smith (201-87, college: Hawaii-Hilo) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Sixers in the defeat. Sixers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SG Schwelmer Baskets keep a position of North leader. Sixers at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play against RSV Eintracht (#11) in Stahnsdorf in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sixers will play on the road against Itzehoe (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
