Regular Season Round 12: Fellbach - Kaiserslautern 84-83

A very interesting game took place in Fellbach. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Kaiserslautern (6-6) to fifth ranked Fellbach (7-5) 84-83 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kaiserslautern. They outrebounded Kaiserslautern 43-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Lasse Steinort (195-94, college: Kirtland CC) who saved his team from a defeat with 21 points and 6 rebounds. American center Scooter Gillette (206-90, college: Fair Dickinson) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Fellbach players scored in double figures. American swingman Aaron Reams (192-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Ronny Weihmann (186-82, college: Emmanuel, GA) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Kaiserslautern. Fellbach moved-up to fourth place in South-West, which they share with HAKRO Merlins II. Kaiserslautern at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Fellbach's next round opponent will be Giessen Pointers (#10) on the road where they are favorite. Kaiserslautern will play against Kronberg (#13) and hope to win that game.
