There was a small surprise when fourth ranked UCAM Murcia II (8-3) beat on the road leader Alginet (11-1) 82-65 on Sunday. UCAM Murcia II dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Alginet's 30. UCAM Murcia II forced 26 Alginet turnovers. Alginet was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for swingman Ismael Corraliza (192-0) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 steals. Antonio Burgos (201-0) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Miguel Martinez (183-95) answered with 13 points and 4 assists and Rafael Llopis (-93) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Alginet. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for UCAM Murcia II. They moved-up to third place in Group E-B. Loser Alginet still keeps top position with one game lost. UCAM Murcia II will face Calpe (#6) at home in the next round. Alginet will play against Jairis (#4) and hope to win that game.
