An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tochigi. First ranked Tochigi B. faced 3rd ranked Diamond Dolphins. Host Tochigi B. (14-4) defeated guests from Nagoya (9-9) 87-71. Tochigi B. shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Hironori Watanabe (180-88) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Tochigi B. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: Northwestern St.) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and guard Makoto Kinoshita (185-97) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tochigi B. have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-4 record, which they share with Hitachi SRT. Loser Diamond Dolphins keep the third place with nine games lost. They share the position with Hokkaido L.. Tochigi B. will meet at home Akita Happinets (#5) in the next round. Diamond Dolphins will play against Shimane Magic and hope to secure a win.
