Regular Season Round 18: Kyoto H. - Osaka E. 80-86

Rather predictable result when first ranked Osaka E. (12-5) beat on the road 4th ranked Kyoto H. (8-10) 86-80 on Sunday. They outrebounded Kyoto H. 35-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. International Takuya Hashimoto (186-94) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Kyoto H.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Osaka E. maintains first position with 12-5 record. Kyoto H. lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with ten games lost. Osaka E. will face Shiga L-Stars (#5) on the road in the next round. Kyoto H. will play against the league's second-placed Ryukyu GK in Okinawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
