Regular Season Round 7: Prometey - Dnipro 93-99

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Prometey (9-2) in Kamianske on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Dnipro (9-2) 99-93. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Prometey. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-21. But Prometey won third quarter 31-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Dnipro won last quarter 27-22. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Prometey helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for the former international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (205-89, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). American point guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) helped adding 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Dnipro's coach Denys Zhuravlov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard Randy Culpepper (183-89, college: UTEP, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 25 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: UMES, agency: Network Sports International) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dnipro used an opportunity after Prometey lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Prometey. Dnipro is looking forward to face Mykolaiv (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Prometey will play against Odessa (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
