Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hornets (9-16) against fifth ranked Hawks (6-17) on Sunday night. Host Hornets were defeated by Hawks in Charlotte 122-107. They made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Hawks players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for guard Trae Young (188-98, college: Oklahoma) who led the winners and scored 30 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Forward Jabari Parker (203-95, college: Duke) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward PJ Washington (206-98, college: Kentucky) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Devonte Graham (187-95, college: Kansas) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Hornets in the defeat. Five Hawks and four Hornets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hawks maintains fifth place with 6-17 record. Hornets at the other side keep the third position with 16 games lost.
