Regular Season Round 18: Toyama G. - Chiba J. 72-73

Fourth-ranked Toyama G. (5-13) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Chiba J. (11-7) on Sunday. The visitors from Chiba managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected easier game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: UConn) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists. Chiba J.'s coach Atsushi Ono used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) who recorded 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import Josh Peppers (201-85, college: UCF) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four Toyama G. players scored in double figures. Chiba J. maintains fourth position with 11-7 record. Toyama G. at the other side dropped to the third place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Niigata A.. Chiba J. are looking forward to face Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round. Toyama G. will play on the road against Niigata A. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
