Regular Season Round 19: Ryukyu GK - Kyoto H. 80-60

An interesting game for Ryukyu GK (11-7) which hosted in Okinawa 4th placed Kyoto H. (8-11). Second ranked Ryukyu GK had an easy win 80-60. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Kyoto H. 45-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American forward DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Norio Sassa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international center Yuya Nagayoshi (199-91) added 13 points in the effort for Kyoto H.Ryukyu GK maintains second place with 11-7 record having six points less than leader Tochigi B. Kyoto H. lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 11 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round. Kyoto H. will play at home against the league's leader Tochigi B. and hope to win that game.
