Regular Season Round 9: Ratiopharm - Monaco 63-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked German ratiopharm Ulm's (1-8) home loss to fourth ranked French Monaco (6-3) 63-78 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Monaco. ratiopharm Ulm was better in fourth quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monaco dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to ratiopharm Ulm's 18. ratiopharm Ulm was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American-Bulgarian point guard Dee Bost (188-89, college: Mississippi St.) who scored 13 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Guard Paul Lacombe (190-90, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Isaiah Briscoe (190-96, college: Kentucky) who recorded 8 points and American-German center Gavin Schilling (206-95, college: Michigan St.) added 3 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Monaco have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Andorra and Promitheas. ratiopharm Ulm lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Monaco will face league's leader Virtus BO in Bologna in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ratiopharm Ulm will play on the road against Rishon (#6) in Rishon Le-Zion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
