An exciting game was played in Shumen. Second ranked Shumen faced one of their biggest challengers Slavia. Host Shumen (6-2) smashed guests from Sofia (6-4) 120-82. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Slavia. Shumen dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 50. Shumen forced 27 Slavia turnovers and outrebounded them 54-27 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Five Shumen players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shumen have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Chavdar. Newly promoted Slavia keeps the third place with four games lost.
