Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Scauri (2-11) lost at home to third ranked Matera (10-3) 77-67 on Sunday. Matera dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Scauri's 30. Quite impressive performance for naturalized Latvian forward Gints Antrops (201-82, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian center Marcelo Dip (205-84, agency: Players Group) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Dario Guadagnola (198-88) answered with 23 points and 9 rebounds and Riccardo Murri (-0) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Scauri. Four Scauri players scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Matera. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Scauri keeps the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Matera will face Avellino (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Scauri will play against Roma SAzzurra and hope to win that game.
