There was no surprise in Kariya where 5th ranked Aishin Sea Horses (5-16) were defeated by first ranked Toshiba Thunders (18-3) 90-82 on Monday. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Bulgarian power forward Cedric Simmons (206-86, college: NC State) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-3 record. Loser Aishin Sea Horses keep the fifth position with 16 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Diamond Dolphins (#3) in Nagoya in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aishin Sea Horses will play at home against Hokkaido L. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
