Regular Season Round 15: Nevezis - Prienai CBet 73-70

Bottom-ranked Nevezis managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of four consecutive losses. This time they edged sixth-ranked Prienai CBet in Kedainiai 73-70. It looked good early as Prienai CBet took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nevezis had a 19-8 second period charge getting the lead and Prienai CBet was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-73. It was a great evening for DR Congolese center Viny Okouo (215-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Laurynas Beliauskas (192-97) helped adding 14 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international center Laurynas Birutis (213-97) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Regimantas Miniotas (206-96) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Prienai CBet's coach Mantas Sernius tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Nevezis (4-10) moved-up to ninth place. Prienai CBet at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Nevezis will play against higher ranked Juventus (#5) in Utena in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prienai CBet will play at home against the league's leader Zalgiris where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
