Regular Season Round 24: Palanga - Taurages 94-72

Date: December 21, 2019
No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Palanga (10-13) smashed at home 13th ranked Taurages (6-16) 94-72 on Saturday. They outrebounded Taurages 48-22 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Palanga shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Aidas Viskontas (186-86) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American point guard Quincy Taylor (183-91, college: Longwood) chipped in 25 points. Four Palanga players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Karolis Babkauskas (185-91, agency: Agency) who recorded 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Rytis Biliartas (201-91) added 16 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Palanga moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Vytis and Ezerunas. Loser Taurages keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Palanga will face higher ranked Perlas (#5) in Vilnius in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Taurages will play at home against Ezerunas (#10) and hope to win that game.
