Regular Season Round 22: Chiba J. - Yokohama BC 100-94

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Yokohama BC (7-14) against fourth ranked Chiba J. (14-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Yokohama BC unexpectedly was defeated by in Chiba 94-100. Chiba J. players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Yokohama BC was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: UConn) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Chiba J.'s coach Atsushi Ono allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward James Southerland (203-90, college: Syracuse) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Turkish center Reginald Becton (206-91) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Yokohama BC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chiba J. maintains fourth position with 14-8 record. Yokohama BC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the second place with 14 games lost. Chiba J. will again play against league's second-placed Yokohama BC at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Yokohama BC will have a break next round.
