Regular Season Round 27: Kagawa FA - Fukuoka R. 84-83

Sixth-ranked Fukuoka R. (7-21) made lots of trouble for second ranked Kagawa FA (19-7) in Takamatsu. Kagawa FA managed to secure only one-point victory 84-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Strangely Fukuoka R. outrebounded Kagawa FA 42-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Takayuki Kodama (166-92) contributed with 20 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five Kagawa FA players scored in double figures. Spanish center David Doblas (209-81) answered with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Masashi Joho (183-82) added 32 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka R.Kagawa FA maintains second place with 19-7 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Shinshu BW. Fukuoka R. lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 21 games lost. They share it with Koshigaya A.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
